SESSION: Future Tense: 2050 is just around the corner, so it's time to get real

Clive Mather is the Chairman of Iogen Corporation, a leading Canadian developer of cellulosic biofuel technology and biochemical projects. It is delivering renewable and cost-effective fuels for today's cars and trucks. He is also the Chairman of Tearfund, the international Christian relief agency combating global poverty and injustice. In this role he is an ambassador for Tearfund around the world on humanitarian and environmental issues. Additionally, he is the Chairman of Shell’s Pension Funds in the UK, managing assets of approximately $22 billion. He also works with NGO’s and governments on both sides of the Atlantic on energy and environmental issues. He was a member of the Premier’s Council for Economic Strategy in Alberta from 2009 until 2012.

Clive previously worked as President & CEO of Shell Canada Limited. He took a high profile on environmental matters, presenting the business case for sustainable development through communications and example. An advocate of leadership for good and corporate social responsibility, he has held many public appointments in the UK, including Commissioner for the Equal Opportunities Commission, Chairman of the Government/Industry CSR Academy and Deputy Chairman of the Windsor Leadership Trust. He lectures on ethical issues around the world. He is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He lives in Guildford, UK with his wife Ann and 2 border collies.
